Take a 4 Minute Peace Break: Music of "Moonlight Water"

December

A Very Special Music; "On Earth As It Is In Heaven"

The mountain of stress he'd been carrying was gone;

"I don't think that just any music intended for relaxation would have helped me.

"It addressed the root of my stress," he said.

Such music can help us to return to a state of inner serenity and natural flow of harmonious living.

Take a 4-minute break.

Listen to music like "Moonlight Water" at times throughout the day for relief from stress.

Close your eyes... listen... feel...

During the music, Rest and Breathe... Ahhh...

This can be very effective for resetting your nervous system and erasing stress.

We learn from music.  Music teaches us about feeling and flow.

Music reinforces feelings we may already have and want to cultivate more of.

It can shift our awareness in a vibratory phenomenon known as 'entrainment' which means that we tend to resonate with vibrations and rhythms we're exposed to.

In my work with music, I sense and hear vibrations from people's nervous systems (Yes, really!) and I interpret the musical rhythms, pulses and textures I hear at the piano.*

I call this piece "Moonlight Water." It might be one of the most soothing pieces I've ever played.

This music came when I played for a man who had been under stress.  He didn't actually tell me that he was stressed... until later.  When I sat down to play for him, this is the music I heard clearly for him.

It flows like quiet water.

After the music was played, the man remarked that the mountain of stress he'd been carrying was gone;

“The music provided me with pure relaxation and nourishment and addressed the root of my stress.  I don't think that just any music intended for relaxation would have helped me. This music showed me what I need and moved me at a deep level."

I heard these words when the music ended. I shared them with him. "Rest.  Let go. Stop judging self. Quit trying hard."   He took the words to heart.

Moonlight Water helped to dismantle stress and enabled this man to release, let go and reset his nervous system.

That's entrainment.

That's what music can do.

The music we listen to has a powerful influence on us, down to the most subtle nuances of its sound.

Music affects us  physically, resonating our physical body and influencing heart rate and brain waves as well as affecting us at very subtle levels of feeling and awareness.

There are numerous ways by which music influences us and our nervous systems respond to all the music we hear.

It's a good rule of thumb: It's best not to listen to any music that is NOT how we want to feel.

Moonlight Water is relaxing and de-stressing and can have an influential effect of dissolving tension and alleviating a loop of worrisome feelings.  Such music can help us to return to a state of inner serenity, peace and a natural flow of harmonious living.

May we all flow naturally, like water.

Recommendation:  Take a 4-minute break.

Listen to music like Moonlight Water at times throughout the day for relief from stress.

Close your eyes, listen, feel.

During the music, rest and breathe...

This can be very effective in resetting the nervous system.

*Actually, I choose from three different layers that I hear and sense in a person; the most outward layer of the personality (mind), a mid layer of emotion stored in the body, and a deep layer of serenity which is the territory of the human spirit.

How do I know this is for real?  From the responses of people for whom I play.

We respond best to music that shifts us in the direction we want to go, often in the direction of our spirit, unchanging and more greater than the mind.

Music can shift us in a way that increases the intergration of the different aspects of ourselves to flow more harmoniously together. It just depends on the person, the situation and the music how this all comes about.

The way I view my job of interpreting music for a person is that I'm to stay out of the way with what I think would sound good and play what I sincerely sense and hear for that person.
